In relation to the things of God, of the kingdom of heaven; there has to be a definitive line drawn. If you are on the side of the kingdom, you're part of my family, but if you're on the side of the world you're like a stranger....even if you're my mother or brother or sister. That's the way it has to be if you choose to be His disciple. If your family is not concerned with the things of the kingdom, it might not be their conscious intention to pull you back into the world, but make no mistake, that's what they'll do. Paul tells us to be diligent in our study to show ourselves approved to God. He says we are to be workmen who rightly divide the word of truth. That tells us so much! In the contrast between Mary and Martha, Yeshua does not commend the sister that is working so hard to try to serve the Master. Do Not Be Deceived

The book of Mark records that Yeshua said ‘many’ are going to be deceived. That means that the deception is going to be a counterfeit of the truth since many are going to fall for it. These deceivers are not going to be coming and saying, “Hey, I’m evil,” or “I’m sent by satan.” The only way a counterfeit can get away with passing phony bills is if those bills look like the real thing. If a counterfeiter came with $20 bills with a picture of Sponge Bob on them, he wouldn’t get away with it. Well satan is a counterfeiter and his counterfeit is going to look real. John came first to preach repentance. But even when Christ began His ministry, He still preached to repent and believe. Repent is an interesting word. It means to turn away from something. On the day of Pentecost, Peter preached to the crowd there in Jerusalem and many of them reached the good news and wanted to know what to do with it. They asked him what they needed to do and the first thing he told them was to repent. Repent, be baptized, and receive the Holy Spirit. But that’s not meant to be just some ceremony that you do and then forget about. As if to say, “Well now that I’m saved I can go back out and live like the devil.” Where would the repentance be in that?
